Acclimatization Day

Carina Räihä Mt. Everest

Today we trekked up to 5100 metres to a hill above Dingpoche. The intention is to facilitate tomorrow’s ascent. The view from the top of the hill down to the valley and to the mountains near by, Ama Damblam for example, was spectacular. I keep feeling great and I haven’t even been suffering from headache. A few members of our expedition have mild symptoms of altitude sickness and some also suffer from stomach flu but I am confident that everyone will continue trekking tomorrow. Attached to this diary entry are some photos from along the way. Tomorrow we will continue to Lobuche where we will stay for one night. We will reach the Base Camp on April 8th. Next time we will have an internet connection at the Base Camp so you will be hearing more from me then. Best wishes and regards to you all!
